The Rock Shop

Today we went to the Rock Shop. I liked it because I got to see all the rocks!
There are a lot of rocks.  

They even make lanterns out of  rocks.

They have shelves and shelves of rocks it is crazy!

They have everything!

California State Capitol

   We had a free tour inside the Capitol building. There are policemen everywhere and you have to go through security.

I really liked to learn about the history of the Building.

     It was damaged in an earthquake in 1892 and had to be rebuilt.There used be Greek statues on the roof of the building but after the earthquake many were destroyed and there are no statues today because they are not earthquake safe. click hear to find out more about it.

We actually went to an assembly meeting.  It was really long and boring. I thought they would get into voting for laws but they just gave a lot of speeches. We left after an hour.

Butterfly Magic

     My mom bought me a Butterfly Garden kit.  It came with 10 caterpillars, caterpillar food, and a butterfly house. I was a little worried at first because I wasn't sure it would work but it did! Be careful not to move the cocoons too much or they might die. When they get moved or have stress the cocoon starts to wiggle and spin. 

      It was very fun watching their transformation. Just like magic!

     My favorite part about having my own pet butterflies is watching them fly around my room. But be careful of their wings, they are very delicate. If their wings get damaged they will not be able to fly. Their life span is 3 weeks.
